Staphyt partners with Alteia

Leading agronomic research company Staphyt and Alteia, a pioneer in visual data analysis and artificial intelligence applications, have recently collaborated, in line with the former’s consistent dynamics to enhance its field trial analysis capabilities.

The project  introduces the integration of Alteia’s innovative software platform into Staphyt’s field trial processes, bringing cutting-edge technology to the assessment of critical parameters such as plant count and ear count.

Transforming Agricultural Research with Alteia’s Platform

Staphyt, renowned for its commitment to delivering high-accuracy agronomic data and agronomic expertise, is Alteia software platform to streamline and revolutionize its field trial analysis. Alteia platform’s advanced features, backed by artificial intelligence and visual data analytics, are expected to increase overall capabilities in crop assessment and precision experimentation.

Key Features: Plant Count and Ear Count Precision

One of the standout features of this collaboration is the integration of advanced algorithms for plant count and cereal ear count analysis. Alteia’s platform leverages machine learning to process visual data captured during field trials, enabling rapid and accurate counting of plants and ears. This level of precision is crucial for agronomists seeking to optimize crop management strategies and improve overall productivity.

Benefits for Agricultural Researchers and Stakeholders

Alteia’s software platform brings forth several benefits for the agricultural research community:

  • Efficiency in Data Analysis: Alteia’s platform automates the process of plant count and ear count, significantly reducing the time and effort traditionally required for manual assessments. With a 1 year test of 540 cereal counting, the time gain is estimated to 130h for the field agronomist.
  • Accuracy and Consistency: The advanced algorithms ensure a high degree of accuracy in counting, eliminating the margin of error associated with manual counts. A partial manual counting is nevertheless necessary to validate the algorithm’s results, in our internal quality approach. In addition, the use of Alteia’s digital solution brings standardization to data collection, which is a challenge when running global trials across borders.
  • Insights for Informed Decision-Making: Researchers can now access detailed insights about their crops over time, allowing for more informed decision-making in crop management, breeding programs, and agricultural practices.
  • Enhanced Collaboration: The platform facilitates seamless collaboration among research teams and with clients, enabling them to share, analyze, and discuss results in real-time, regardless of geographical locations.
  • Optimized Resource Allocation: The precise analytics contribute to optimized resource allocation, allowing researchers to focus efforts on areas that require attention and intervention.

Looking Ahead: Transforming Agricultural Practices

As technology continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of agriculture, partnerships like these underscore the commitment of  Staphyt to harness innovative solutions for sustainable and efficient crop management.” said Jean-Christophe Boissinot , Innovation Director at Staphyt.
